SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR SOLICITATION OF A MINOR

News Release

(Gwinnett County, Ga., May 17, 2024) – Investigators with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation (TRACE) Unit apprehended a suspect during an investigation. On May 14, TRACE located David Jones in Lawrenceville, Georgia, as he was attempting to make obscene contact with a person that he believed was a 14-year-old child. Jones was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony, Electronically Furnishing Obscene Materials to Minors, Obscene Internet Contact with a Child, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance. TRACE will continue to combat human trafficking and arrest those who seek to victimize children.
